The Broadcast Awards
Where the Film Festival focuses more on narrative-style productions, the Broadcast Awards focuses more on the broadcast, or live production, aspects of media creation. More specifically, this competition is geared toward the building of successful news and broadcast as well as radio programs at the high school level. This is an opportunity for a school’s broadcast program to be critiqued by professionals and for new schools to see what is required to build a successful broadcast program.
The Broadcast Awards includes opportunities for students to compete in events the day of the competition that will both challenge them and teach them important skills related to both the television and radio broadcast industry. Programs and students that show outstanding achievement in competition areas will be awarded a Broadcast Award. Below is a list of the competition categories.
